History

Langi Kal Kal Angus is located in the rolling hills of Trawalla just east of Beaufort, Victoria. The 1090Ha property is a minimum-security transitional prison that has a focus on delivering education and employment to prisoners which assists with reintegration back into the community.

The Angus stud plays a major part in the employment of prisoners enabling them to gain skills in agriculture, low stress stock handling, animal husbandry, record keeping and much more.

The stud has been established for over 40 years with the foundation of the herd predominantly being Lawson’s, Innesdale & Millah Murrah blood. It comprises of ~260 APR registered spring calving cows, producing sale bulls and PTIC heifers annually, and heifers for the self-replacing stud herd. The stud has now introduced a line of HBR registered females into its breeding program, with the aim to produce both bulls and heifers that can be sold to clients promoting the Angus Breed and the breeding values we focus on.

Artificial insemination programs have enhanced the herd's genetics utilising leading edge A.I sires from around the world and purchasing quality bulls from leading studs to support natural joining's.

Langi Kal Kal Angus has built a strong brand over the years and has a reputation for breeding outstanding livestock and providing a quality product and service to our clients.
