History

Langi Kal Kal Angus is located in the rolling hills of Trawalla just east of Beaufort, Victoria. The 1090Ha property is a minimum security transitional prison that has a focus on delivering education and employment to prisoners which assists with reintegration back into the community.

The Angus stud plays a major part in the employment of prisoners enabling them to gain skills in agriculture, low stress stock handling, animal husbandry, record keeping and much more. 

The stud has been established for 35 years with the foundation of the herd predominantly being Lawson’s & Innesdale blood. It comprises of 260 APR registered spring calving cows, 60 annual sale bulls, PTIC annual sale heifers, replacement heifers and steers. 

In recent times, the stud “Langi Kal Kal Angus” has actively used artificial insemination to enhance its genetics utilising leading edge A.I sires from around the world.
