Langi Kal Kal Angus is located in the rolling hills of Trawalla just east of Beaufort, Victoria. The 1090Ha property is a minimum-security transitional prison that has a focus on delivering education and employment to prisoners which assists with reintegration back into the community.
The Angus stud plays a major part in the employment of prisoners enabling them to gain skills in agriculture, low stress stock handling, animal husbandry, record keeping and much more.
The stud has been established for over 40 years with the foundation of the herd predominantly being Lawson’s, Innesdale & Millah Murrah blood. It comprises of ~260 APR registered spring calving cows, producing sale bulls and PTIC heifers annually, and heifers for the self-replacing stud herd.
Artificial insemination programs now enhance the herd genetics utilising leading edge A.I sires from around the world.
